LaMarque

Women's Fashion

Description

LaMarque is a Montreal based fashion house who first showcased their designs here in Toronto this past March at Toronto Fashion Week. Before the show I was able to meet with the lovely Ifigenia Papadimitriou who is creative director and womens’ wear designer behind the brand, and preview the collection. It was stunning. Lots of gorgeous leather coats with big buckles and great bags. This post could have had a completely different vibe because LaMarque has that black leather biker chic look perfected in their coats, skinny pants, and pencil skirts, but because of this gorgeous spring weather I was drawn to all of their light brown suede pieces that have that great summer beach feel. I included two photos from my last post as well in case anyone missed it because you can’t showcase the LaMarque brand without their biker jackets. I’m wearing the Laetica Cropped Suede Biker Jacket in Tan.

You won’t find any fur in the collection, now or in the future, since it is often a primary material from an industry they don’t support, whereas the leather and shearling used in the collection are always sourced from by-products of the meat industry. I love to see Canadian companies showing that kind of compassion and rejecting the notion that fur is needed for warmth or that it’s necessary to achieve that luxurious look. You can read more about their story here and you can shop the LaMarque collection online or in one of many stores across North America, including both TNT locations in Toronto! I’m already dreaming of their Fringe Vest for music festival season and you should definitely check out all their black leather jackets for that classic piece in your wardrobe. Perfection.
